The summer is probably the most awaited time of the year. The rising trees, bright hues of flowers, the scattered rainbow and the starlit nights are perfect elements for giving anyone those positive vibes of revelations. The break that kids get from school during this time of the year can be extremely promising for them and the entire family. There are immense opportunities to thoroughly grab some outdoor fun while learning and exploring newer elements.
Summer holidays come after a long wait and are gone by before you know it, so it is important that you plan your holidays in advance to make the most of it and also keep the children engaged positively. For this, you can make a bucket list of the things you wish to do and allot them day wise on your calendar. You can also schedule your day to day activities. You actually don’t need to be rigid with these; just a framework should be fine since the days should be fun and not a drag. Include as many things as possible in your to-do list and make some beautiful memories that you and your kids can cherish for the rest of your life. Some of the activities you can do during this time of the year include:
- Be a water baby– This is the best time to bask and enjoy the glory of the sun. Go to the pool, have a good time in water or simply sunbathe. Beaches are an absolute fun during this time. Dash into the waves or play around a new beach or enjoy at your favourite one. Or simply get the membership of a Water Park around you.
- Learn something new-Develop a new talent or hone a new skill in your kids. It can be learning anything; a new sport, dance, musical instrument or even a new language. Enrol them in classes nearby you or find a private instructor. Learning a new skill is a great way to boost their self-esteem and also it gives a more developed personality for a promising future.
- Arrange play date or movie date– Arrange play dates with your kids’ friends around. While the kids have a huge stretch of area to enjoy, you can make them more interesting by an outdoor screening of a movie.
- Travel– This is the most feasible time to plan a big trip for the entire family. While the kids get some break from their studies, such family trips can be extremely refreshing.
- Attend or participate in outdoor events– Try to keep a watch on schedule of the events taking place nearby. You can simply attend a concert, craft show, exhibition, fair or a carnival. Not only you can attend but also participate in such events wherein you have immense opportunity to showcase your talent.
- Explore local attractions– While being busy in the hustle and bustle of our lives, sometimes the places nearby us remain unexplored. Try to make a list of neighbouring parks, museums, historic sites, farms, aquariums and include them in your weekday or weekend plans.
- Plan activities– You can plan activities with your kids or grandkids be it arts and craft DIY, gardening, cooking and baking or even a simple cleaning up of some area which has been long untouched. Any activity can be made fun with kids just by a simple effort of being involved.
- Embrace nature– Slow down and be in those little moments of joy. Get wet in rain, splash in puddles, go fishing, walk barefoot, watch the stars, go in trails nearby you, practise an outdoor yoga session, take a bike ride or simply a luxury walk around your house.
- Go on adventure– If you are an adventure freak, pack your bag and get going for a new adventure. Consider scuba diving, water rafting, kayaking, biking or a road trip. There is completely no substitute to such an adventure.
- Plan a picnic– To enjoy the flavours of summers to the fullest, going for a picnic with your friends and family is truly a must. Prepare and plan for the food items, games, activities etc. To add more fun to it, you can also have an outdoor cookout.
So what are your plans for this summer? Its time to rack your brains and get ready for some amazing ideas for a memorable summer.
